Scripture~ John 17-14-16 NLT
"I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I'm not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They do not belong to this world any more than I do."
Observation~ It's a reaction to the word living inside believers. Christians are to know that they are in the world but not a part of it. Our identity is not rooted in culture, trends, or worldly systems.
Application~ I am not meant to fit in with others in the world. I can continue to pray for me and my family's strength and protection to stand firm in our faith. My identity is anchored in Christ, not culture. And my presence in the world has purpose so my light is needed right where I am.
Prayer~ Dear Father God, thank You for the day You have given me. Thank You for the laughs and family time You have given me and my family today. Thank You for setting me apart from the world through Your word. Please help me to stand firm when the world rejects what You've placed inside me. Protect my mind, my heart, and my purpose from my enemy and remind me daily that my identity is rooted in You alone. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
