🌱 Building a Dream Career is Hard — But Finding People to Build It With? Even Harder.

Building a dream, a purpose-driven, soul-filled mission that reaches hearts and changes lives? That's another story.

Intro: Starting a business is one thing. Building a dream — a purpose-driven, soul-filled mission that reaches hearts and changes lives — that’s another. But what no one prepares you for is how lonely the journey can be. Especially when you’re not just building for yourself, but for others too.

At AquaSoul Home, our vision is bigger than products. We want to create soulful spaces — in homes, in minds, and online. But despite having passion, plans, and persistence, the road has been full of barriers I never expected. From lack of support to outright disrespect, this is my story — and why your voice, your time, and even your feedback can change more than you know.

The dream for Owner Liz is to work WITH others to build a soulful business for all to shop and connect with others.

Part 1: The Dream vs. The Reality

I started AquaSoul Home with the intention of doing something meaningful — to share beauty, creativity, and healing with people everywhere. I wanted to build a business that felt like home not just for shoppers, but for collaborators and partners too.

But here’s what I ran into along the way:

  • Family who didn’t understand or support my vision.

  • A community more silent than encouraging.

  • No mentorship, no financial safety net, and very little access to high-level instruction.

  • Constant denials for grant programs I qualified for on paper — but not in perception.

  • Loss of traditional banking access after being a victim of fraud, forcing me to rely on credit just to stay afloat.

  • And scammers or time-wasters who made the struggle even heavier.

All while trying to build something for others — and all while living with a disability and surviving on SSI.

It has proven to be a heavy weight trying to connect, motivate, and inspire others.

Part 2: The Weight of Wanting to Connect

Even with a website, social platforms, and years of knowledge under my belt, I’ve had to ask the hard questions:

  • Why is it so difficult to get traffic when the mission is clear?

  • Why do people say they’ll help, then disappear?

  • Why is honest feedback treated like a chore?

  • Why is there so little trust in Black-owned, disabled-led businesses?

We live in a time where it's easy to scroll past or ignore. But for a small brand like mine, one share, one visit, one comment, one collaboration can mean the difference between breakthrough and burnout.

And I’ve learned: it’s not just me. So many creative women, especially those from underserved backgrounds, face this silent uphill battle.

Part 3: So What Keeps Me Going?

What keeps me building is this:

  • 🕊️ I believe we all deserve spaces that feel like peace.

  • 💡 I believe collaboration should lift us up, not tie us down.

  • 📣 I believe real business starts with community, not competition.

And I believe that when people take the time to stop, look, and listen — they’ll see the value we’re offering.

Part 4: Let’s Talk Commission vs. One-Time Payments

AquaSoul Home runs on commission-based collaboration — and here’s why:

We want you to grow with us, not just work for us.

  • 💼 Instead of paying a flat rate for your time or effort, we invite you to earn consistently from the traffic, influence, or creativity you bring in.

  • 💬 That means bloggers, social media mavens, affiliate marketers, artists, and even support reps can earn long-term just by sharing our mission.

  • 📦 You don’t need stock or upfront investments — just commitment and heart.

This model isn't just more flexible — it's more fair. You’re not trading hours for dollars. You’re building something sustainable, soulful, and scalable.

Part 5: How We Overcome — Together

Here’s what I’ve learned (and am still learning):

  1. Be honest about your struggles. Vulnerability builds connection.

  2. Ask for what you need. Even when it's uncomfortable.

  3. Stay consistent, even when unseen. Real growth is slow, not viral.

  4. Make room for the right people. The helpers, the collaborators, the doers.

  5. Keep building like someone’s watching — because someone is.

Help us be able to better inspire you and others!

Part 6: How You Can Help (Without Spending a Dime)

You don’t have to shop to support. You can:

  • ✅ Visit the site and leave a review

  • ✅ Join the AquaSoul community page or group

  • ✅ Share a post or reel

  • ✅ Comment or tag a friend who might love our message

  • ✅ Chat with us — say hi, ask questions, offer feedback

  • ✅ Refer someone looking to collaborate

  • ✅ Be present in the space we're creating

Because the truth is, the hardest part isn’t building the business. It’s getting people to see it, trust it, and believe in it — just enough to give it a chance.

Building something soulful - online or offline - is better when built WITH others.

Closing: Building Something Soulful

AquaSoul Home isn't just a store — it’s a space for healing, creativity, and collaboration. It’s built on grit, grace, and a refusal to give up. But I can’t do it alone.

If you're tired of one-time wins and want something you can grow with — this is your invitation. To collaborate. To connect. To build something soulful, valuable, and different.
